James Sawyers from Tyrone Co. Ireland Early 1700s , Built Sawyers fort 1735

In agusta Co. Va. [Near Churchville Va , 5 miles from Stanton Va]

Stanton court house has records dating back to 1745. great place to

trace your family records. I located site of Sawyers fort, if your looking

for the fort ask about Kellers Fort, it was sold to Kellers 1801.

Sawyers cemetary is now on private property, did not find James Sawyers

Grave died 1790, Agusta Co Va. Have copy of his will {Below}

I also have info. on All of James and Rachels Children.

Children -  John  -  James Jr.  -  Sampson  - Rachel - Rebecca Never Married.

Ann Sawyers - Martha Sawyers.

Sawyers Fort from a picture given to me by the Bear Funeral Home in Churchville ,VA.

Fort was torn down in  1930s stones from fort was used to build a house by the Bear Family.
